Metal Fabrication FAQs

Impact Fab works with OEMs in aerospace, automation, furniture, lighting, food and beverage equipment, and more. The fastest way to get a quote is to send your engineering drawing, even an incomplete one.

What services do you offer?
  • Custom Metal Fabrication: from small components to large fabrication we have the skills and capacity to handle all sizes of projects. MIG, TIG, and laser welding on a wide range of materials but certified welders.
  •  Laser Cutting: flat sheet cutting across a wide range of metals, from prototypes to production runs.
  • Tube Laser Cutting: round, square, rectangle tube & pipe, i-beam, channel, and angle material  cutting with integrated beveling in a single setup.
  •  CNC Machining: precision machining across steel, aluminum, alloys, and plastics.
  • Metal Forming: bending and shaping sheet metal to spec without losing structural integrity.
  • Water Jet Cutting: cutting for materials and thicknesses that don’t suit a laser, including rubber and plastics.
What materials do you work with?

We fabricate steel, stainless steel, aluminum, alloys, titanium, and plastics. If you’ve already spec’d your material, we’ll build to it. If you’re open to alternatives, for cost, availability, or performance, we can provide options.

Do you do prototype runs, or only production volume?

Yes, both. Whether you need a single prototype to validate a design or an ongoing production run, our engineers work through the details with you directly before anything hits the floor. That upfront conversation is what catches design issues early, before they turn into delays.

Can you handle both tube laser cutting and sheet metal forming for the same project?

Yes. Tube laser cutting handles the flat and tubular cutting stage, and our forming capabilities then take that same part into its finished shape. One shop carries your part from flat stock to finished form, so you’re not managing two vendors for one component.

What do you need from me to get a quote started, even if my drawing isn't finished?

Send us your engineering drawing. Even an incomplete one is enough to get started, and we’ll help fill in the gaps. The more complete your drawing is upfront, the faster we can turn your quote around and hold your production timeline, so it’s worth sending what you have as early as possible.

How fast will I get a quote back?

You’ll typically hear back within the next business day. You’ll talk to a real person on our account management team, not a portal or an automated response.

What happens after I submit a drawing, and who will I be working with?

Our account management team reviews your design, budget, and project scope, then gets back to you with a clear plan for moving the project forward. You’ll have a real point of contact throughout production, not a ticket number.

What's your process for handling design issues, from upfront feedback through mid-production problems?

Our engineers review your design before production starts and work through problems with you directly, which is where most delays and rework get caught early. If something comes up once a project is underway, we communicate it right away rather than let it surface as a surprise at delivery.

What if my project has a tight deadline?

Tell us your deadline up front. We typically quote within one business day and move quickly from there. Moving a project to the front of the line is something we reserve for established customers, and it depends on our current schedule. The best way to shorten any timeline is to send your engineering drawing early.

Do you have a minimum order quantity?

No fixed minimum. We work with both one-off prototypes and full production runs, and pricing reflects the scope of what you actually need.

Get the parts you need when you need them.

When you’re looking for a custom fabrication shop, you want to make sure you’re getting the right partner just as much as the right part. With Impact Fab, you know you’re getting access to an experienced team that knows how to meet your quality standards and deadlines.
